Hi, I'm Jen Scott, the heart behind Country Girl Productions.

I'm a multi-passionate creator, actress, writer, producer, and former award-winning Sugar Artist with a background also in marketing, graphic design and video editing. And I’m on a mission to help emerging talent and new voices break through. What started as a love for storytelling, design, and helping others has grown into a purpose-driven creative hub.

My journey into the entertainment industry started in an unexpected way. After two decades as an entrepreneur and cake artist, I found myself teaching on TV. When that show went off the air a producer who knew me and that I liked acting in school told me I should audition for a show casting in Hamilton. I auditioned and landed one of the leads. Fell in love with storytelling all over again, and found a piece of me that had been missing.

Country Girl Productions was born from the belief that everyone should have opportunities to shine. Whether that’s through acting, crew positions or bringing their own projects to life, no matter what stage of the journey they’re in. Whether you're a filmmaker, actor, writer, or multi-hyphenate like me, you deserve the opportunities, tools and support to go after your dreams.

When I first started pitching my own projects, I was fortunate to have an industry friend guide me on producing and crafting an effective pitch, but I know not everyone has that kind of support. The templates and tools I’ve created are one way I can hopefully be that resource and help for you.

From professionally-designed pitch deck templates to production planning tools and unique gifts for storytellers, everything in my shop is created with intention and tested in the real world. The tools are the same tools that have helped me land LOIs, impress networks, gain international interest and run multiple projects.

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: Cake Artist, Red Cross Instructor, Pastry Chef, PSW, Esthetician, IT support, Marketing Manager, and more. Every step taught me something I now pour back into this work. But it wasn’t until I got into acting and film production that my heart finally found that piece that was missing.

Outside of CGP, I’m also the founder of a charity in development focused on food insecurity and homelessness, because making an impact has always been my why.

I’m also launching CGP Spotlight which is a new streaming platform built to showcase fresh, independent voices in film and TV. It’s part of my mission to help creators not only build great projects, but also get them seen and fair pay. You can learn more here.
